"Mareeba Lions Driving Courses On Track!"

"Venue for the up-coming Mareeba Defensive Driver courses is MAKOTRAC. "
The Mareeba Lions club in conjunction with New Driver will commence a great road safety initiative on 19th June and conduct the first of their Defensive Driving courses in the town. The Club is very interested in reducing the road toll on the Tablelands, and sees these road safety education courses of great benefit in doing just that. The Club has previously supported the Drive2Live Mareeba High school courses and continues to be very active in their Lions Community Service committment. "Drive2Live Moves to Mareeba"
The popular programme moves to Mareeba High this month with xpectations of repeating last years successful courses. The Theory/ Prac information and experiences have been updated with same venues secured. Below are some pics from the great bunch of students from Atherton High.

"Good News for Billycarters "

"Billycarters will have a Race weekend in Malanda 2010"

The Lions Club of Malanda will once again conduct the Southern tablelands Billycart Races at Malanda. The enquiries and popularity of last year's event means all those billycarters can start to grease up the axles in preparation! The idea of a 2-day billycart event has been supported by the Club and although there will only be 1 day of racing, the saturday will be about Billycart Mania! On the planning board after morning scrutineering are afternoon activities, food, movies, camping facilities etc.You have till the 21st August to get the carts ready for scrutineering and practise/racing is on Sunday 22nd. The Club is yet to confirm the venue but is working hard on more racing and practise on Sunday than last years event. Entry forms will come out in due course and prizemoney will no doubt be just as good!!!

"Greetings From the Majestic"

Greetings from your home of entertainment in Malanda

June promises to be an exciting month at The Majestic , with some blockbusters leading up to the school hols .
This weekend there is the exceptional comedy DATE NIGHT - which is really funny - just pure escapist entertainment
HOT TUB TIME MACHINE is a sci fi film taking us back to the recent past.

Next week sees Russell Crowe starring in the acclaimed adventure of ROBIN HOOD .

In the last week of June , and for the start of the school hols , we have the Disney blockbuster PRINCE OF PERSIA - THE SANDS OF TIME, with terrific action and great effects in the spirit of Pirates of the Carribean , as well as the PG rated comedy WHEN IN ROME , which is an endearing little film that should have good appeal .

Finally at the beginning of July , there's SEX AND THE CITY 2 and the all out action adventure THE A TEAM
