New Driver evolved from a desire by its founder Glynn Morice, to assist young drivers in understanding and developing safe-driving skills that will give them the best chance at remaining fatality free.
This desire was born from his knowledge of the statistics sorrounding teenage driver deaths from motor vehicle accidents. With many years of motorsport competition and road travel, Glynn was sure his input could help make a difference.
His vast experience of defensive car control and safe driving techniques, combined with extensive vehicle knowledge and understanding, allows New Driver to deliver a set of great programmes covering the whole spectrum of driver tuition.
It is essential that at the commencement of the learning phase, the driver undergoes appropriate planned instruction from a parent, followed up with professional instruction from an accredited driving school. The school's "Super Drive" programme is aimed at ensuring the supervisor has safe-driving knowledge and ability before embarking on supervision of their learner driver.
Our "First Drive" programme is tailored for assistance to the new learner driver, and covers the complete basic essentials.
New Driver also caters for the learner who requires a measure of their driving ability, later in their logbook hours or just prior to the Qld Tpt driving Test. The "Test Drive" programme enables Glynn to give vital feedback and/or coaching which assists these drivers to keep on the right track. "Manual Drive", caters for drivers moving to a manual license after being an automatic driver. Specific skills to enable smooth and speedy conversion are required here.
New Driver also conducts defensive driving courses under the "Defensive Drive" programme. Aimed at being a continuation of learning for novice drivers, it is also great value for more experienced drivers wanting to refresh.
